Topics: Street market, places in town, food, there is/are
Class: N° 2

Objectives:
  • To consolidate vocabulary about food and places. 
  • To be able to produce sentences (oral and written) using there is/ there are.
  •  To identify and remember some of the places in town and what kind of food they can buy in them.
  • To practice listening macro-skill by listening to a song and reading macro-skill by reading statements in order to complete an activity.

WARM UP:
Routine: Greeting/Date/Weather.
Teacher revises vocabulary about daily routines using flashcards.


1.      I’m going to start the class singing “today it’s Monday” “If you’re happy and you know it Clap your hands”. Then, I’m going to ask for a volunteer to paste the flashcard with the month and the weather and write the date on the blackboard. Then, I’m going to ask the children how they are feeling today.
2.      The teacher is going to check the homework assigned last class on the blackboard so that all students can check.

ACTIVITY 1:
The teacher asks the students to go to the page 42 and do activity number 5, which consist of putting the letter in order to form the name of a food item.

Activity 2
The teacher asks the students “how many...?”(How many bakeries are there in the poster?) using the poster of the city to introduce there is/ there are. She writes the examples in the blackboard. E.g.: there are 3 bakeries.
Then, the teacher asks the students to go to the page 42 and do activity number 6, which consist of a listening comprehension, a song about the things that you can buy in the supermarket. They have to tick the food, which they hear in the song.
